About TIL (* 1964)

Since my early childhood I have been an enthusiastic painter and fortunately, I attended a montessorischool where I learned through the maxim „ help me to do it myself „ ,to work self-employed.

I am autodidact and find my inspiration while cycling through the magical nature in the Netherlands and wandering through the dunes, forests and the beach. Also, old civilisations like minoan Crethe,old Egypt,the Etruscians, Maya, Inca and Lemuria are inspirations for my artwork. A third inspiration is reading books from J.J.Tolkien,Robert Jordan,Marion Zimmer Bradley,Terry Brooks,Tad Williams and Doris Lessing ( Canopus in Argos ).

I feel most at home in the shamanistic world view, the connection between mother earth, nature and the own soul gives me a feeling of security and trust here on planet earth and at the same time connected to all forms of life and the elements.
Cooking with love is something which I see as an art form as well, organic food is to give your body a treat and medicine at the same time.
I am a painter and so I let the paintings 'speak' for themselves, enjoy this virtual exhibition.
